Nancy Van Horne

Obituary of Nancy Lucille Van Horne

Nancy Lucille Van Horne Sept. 23, 1936 to June 8, 2017 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy Van Horne, who died peacefully, on her own terms, and surrounded by loved ones. Nancy was born in Tilbury, Ont., during the Great Depression. She was the 11th of 12 children born to Frank Brosseau and Laura Simard. Nancy loved to cook and worked hard to provide for her family. Her zest for life always had her trying new things and she moved to Montreal in 1977 where she enjoyed the multicultural delights of la belle province. She also lived in Nova Scotia where she loved to savour the seafood — especially a good lobster dinner. Mom loved it when her kids called with good news or sent them a postcard from their travels. She is survived by her daughter Laurie and sons Bill, Jeff, Jamie, Morgan and Ryan. Special thanks to Norma Basili, the staff at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, and the kind souls at Chatham-Kent Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Chatham-Kent Hospice, or a charity of your choice in memory of Nancy. “I may climb perhaps to no great heights, but I will climb alone.” Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac.
